Here are a few client websites to take a look at.
Website Rebuilds
Harris Group Certified Public Accountants
Brassy Marketing completely rebuilt this website from scratch and added several pages of content.
Brassy also added a custom flash header, an opt-in box for an email newsletter, a video on the homepage and several articles and posts. Each of these pieces were optimized with keywords in the title and meta tags to the greatest extent possible. When that was completed the website was added to both local “map” listings like Localeze.com and Google Places as well as over 15 directories and search engines. The next step was publishing dozens of keyword optimized articles to drive traffic to the website and increase the number of backlinks to the site. Finally content is regularly published on the website and in other locations on the internet to manage and build it’s presence. Harris Group’s website is currently (May 2011) the top ranking site for important keyword phrases like “Traverse City CPA”, “Suttons Bay CPA”, and “northern MI CPA”. They also rank very well in another 15+ keyword phrases important to their industry. Acts of Love Home Companions
This is also a completely rebuilt website by Brassy Marketing.
Acts of Love HomeCompanions had an existing site already but they couldn’t modify anything on their own and wanted to have a site that was ranking high in “Traverse City home care” categories and converting website visitors to leads that contacted them directly.
In order to accomplish this we created a new WordPress site for them and developed a custom theme with flash header, opt-in box for collecting contact info and video for the home page so that visitors could quickly get an idea of what the company is all about. Finally we added several new pages of content to provide visitors with some valuable information and give the website more credibility with the search engines and directories. After all of the on-site components were completed and optimized for their most important keywords we moved on to off-site optimization tasks like submitting the site to numerous search engines and directories as well as publishing dozens of articles to help drive traffic to the site and build backlinks which improved the websites overall ranking. The results? Acts of Love Home Care now (as of April 2011) ranks at the very top of the search engine results for “Traverse City home care” “Kalkaska home care” “Suttons Bay home care” “Interlochen home care” and “Elk Rapids home care”.

GT Wine Tours
Doug Dornbos owner of GT Limo and Cherry Capital Cab was looking to draw some attention to GT Wine Tours a division of his business that provides a variety of different wine tour options for exploring Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau wineries. It was important to him that locals and visitors looking for a wine tour in the Grand Traverse area would be able to easily find his business and he wanted the ability to modify the website himself by adding images, new pages, categories and content without having to rely on a web master.
Brassy created this website template for GT Wine Tours, it has a fully functional content management system (CMS) so not only can the Brassy team update material but so can anyone on the GT Wine Tour staff. This makes it easy and cost effective to keep the website fresh and current. To check out the fun wine tours available in the Grand Traverse area check out their website at:
SEO Clients that Optimized Existing Websites
A few more SEO clients:
These websites were not designed by Brassy Marketing. Instead we worked with the clients current website and often their designer and/or webmaster where applicable to take their existing website and get it ranking higher in relevant keyword searches so that prospective clients “shopping around online” or doing “online research” would find them.
Yancho Cosmetic & Family Dentistry
When Brassy Marketing started working with Yancho Dentistry they had a brand new website that they really liked but needed help getting it “on the map” so that people looking for a quality dentist in the area would be able to find them. This meant providing pages of valuable text content in addition to videos and images. We also submitted their new website to search engines and directories to improve their rank in local map listings and organic search results.
Dr. Yancho is a Traverse City award winning dentist, you can learn more about him at his website: www.yanchodentistry.com
TSR Lawn & Landscape
The owners of TSR Lawn and Landscape were already very happy with their web designer and the overall look of their website but after reviewing a report of their current rankings in several different categories they decided it was important to invest in improving the visibility of the website. We got to work right away and coordinated with their existing web designer to make some modifications to the tags and content on the existing site so that it would reflect the specific market that they wanted to reach. We also added a video to the home page that gives you a snapshot of all of the services that they offer.
The results? Their website literally jumped from the second or third page in many categories to number one position on the front page of the Google search engine results. We tracked significant improvements in over 20 different unique categories the most significant being “Traverse City landscaping” and “Traverse City lawn”. Sunset Watersorts
The owner of Sunset Watersports was already happy with the look and feel of his existing website but needed to make sure that potential clients look for a boat rental in the Traverse City and surrounding areas would easily be able to find his business. We did some research and targeted Traverse City in addition to another six surrounding lakes and several different rental products to make sure that regardless of how the potential clients were looking for “boat rentals” in the area they would find Sunset Watersports right at the top of the search engine results.
Brassy Marketing worked with the existing website designer to supply specific modifications to the existing website tags and content that would allow the search engines a more accurate depiction of where the website should be categorized in their results. Then Brassy supplied over nine pages of new content relevant to boating in the area, and submitted the website to several search engines and local directories to help build a larger collection of relevant backlinks.
The results? The Sunset Watersports website jumped dramatically in rank just in time for their busy season. They are currently ranking at the top of the Google (among other) search engine results for categories like “Traverse City boat rental” “Long Lake boat rental” “Leelanau Lake boat rental” “Torch Lake boat rental” “Spider Lake boat rental” “Grand Traverse boat rental”. They also rank very well for all of the different types of boat rentals that they provide including ski boats, water trampolines, pontoon boats etc… this is very important to the company since they do not have physical locations on all of these lakes but they serve the areas by delivering boats and other water rentals to the customers at the lake of their choice. Hey, Thanks for this nice post.
As an owner of online business this information is very helpful to me. I own Discount mp3 players store and I’m learning SEO methods to increase the visitors of my store.
I have a question about SEO, does Image SEO optimization really bring traffic? is it really worth a time it takes to optimaze all the images? I mean, yes you can rank in google images well with your images but, does it really bring traffic?
Thanks for this post, it was very helpful.
Regards
Labeling images for on-site SEO is recommended not only because the image will show up in searches (as you mentioned) but it also shows search engines that there is more “keyword relevant” content on the site. Each appropriately labeled image that you add to your site adds more “credibility” as far as the search engines are concerned, therefore helping to improve your rank for your target keywords. Typically I do not consider this practice and extremely important tool. That being said I cannot give you an exact “measure” as to how important keyword optimized images are. If your site has little text content and is loaded with images it may be more critical for you than if you also have substantial text content to indicate to the search engines what your site is “all about”. Hope this helps, please let me know if you would like more information.
